Hoosier one number away from taking home the Powerball^® jackpot; celebrates $100,000
Zachary Dunn purchased a Powerball® ticket at Big Red Liquors in Fishers, Ind., for the Wednesday, January 13, 2021 Powerball draw - which at the time was an estimated $550 million. Upon scanning the ticket with the Hoosier Lottery app, not even Zachary thought it would come back with so many zeros! “There were so many zeros I had to scan it again!” said Zachary. He matched 4-of-5 numbers and the Powerball number resulting in a $50,000 win, which instantly turned into $100,000 because he purchased the Power Play option for an additional $1. Zachary enjoys playing Hoosier Lottery games for entertainment value. He prefers Draw games and plays Daily 3 and Daily 4 every day. Earlier in January, Zachary won $500 playing Daily 3 (on Tuesday, January 12) as a precursor to his big win on Powerball. When playing Zachary loves using numbers important to the family so he chooses birthdays, anniversaries, and addresses; although, for Powerball he generally chooses a Quick Pick and always plays Power Play. 

Zachary moved from Ohio to Indiana at the end of 2019 for his job as a truck driver. Soon after moving the pandemic struck and shut everything down. His job has become busier than ever working 70-plus hours per week.
