Stephen Huber of Franklin, Ind. claimed a $100,000 prize on a recent Powerball^® draw.
Prior to the Saturday, January 9th’s draw, Mr. Huber was at Franklin Liquors and purchased 3 Quick Pick tickets with Power Play and walked out the door.

As per his usual routine at the breakfast table on that Sunday morning, Mr. Huber pulled out his Powerball tickets and made his typical phone call to the Hoosier Lottery office – he likes to get his winning numbers directly from the Lottery.  As he checked off the matching numbers, he quickly realized he had WON! Per his research, he thought he had won $20,000. He hurriedly called one of his good friends reflecting, “I just had to tell someone!” This was the most amount of money Mr. Huber had ever won!

Huber and his friend drove to the same store on Monday to buy tickets for Wednesday’s drawing. While they were at the terminal, the clerk mentioned that there was a big winner on that terminal from Saturday’s drawing. His friend quickly chimed in, while pointing to Huber, and said “Yeah! That was him! We’re heading to the (Hoosier Lottery) office tomorrow to claim the prize!”

The morning of January 12, Huber drove to the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office to claim his $20,000 prize – or so he thought. He walked to the counter, handed over the ticket, and the Hoosier Lottery representative congratulated him on his $100,000 win! “Excuse me!?” he quickly responded, “I thought I only won $20,000!” The Hoosier Lottery representative responded “Nope, it is $100,000! You matched 4 of the 5 numbers and the POWERBALL so your payout is $50,000. Because you paid for the Power Play, your payout is doubled – totaling $100,000.” Needless to say, Mr. Huber was pleasantly surprised! “I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed.

As of now, Mr. Huber does not have immediate plans for the money, but he is excited to see what the future has in store for him.
