Patrick Stuff was born and raised in Indiana but now lives in Georgia. While home visiting family for Christmas, Patrick and his siblings each received Hoosier Lottery tickets in their stockings—it’s a fun holiday tradition for the adults in his family.

The day after the Powerball® drawing, Patrick looked up the winning numbers and realized the ticket he received on Christmas matched several. He knew he must have won a significant prize but didn’t know how much he may have won. After some Internet searching, Patrick and his family found the Hoosier Lottery app and scanned his ticket. Seeing a message that the prize was too large to cash at a retailer, they did a little more Internet sleuthing and found that Patrick won $50,000!

Patrick delayed his flight home so he could stay to claim his prize and enjoy more time with family. He plans to invest the prize money, but not before treating his mother to something special first.
