A Frankfort man recently claimed a $50,000 Powerball® prize at the Hoosier Lottery’s Prize Payment office in Indianapolis.

He typically plays Powerball and a couple other Draw games each week. When he stopped to get gas in nearby Burlington one day, he also purchased a few Powerball tickets. Once home, he added those to the small stack of tickets he had accumulated over the past couple of weeks and promptly forgot about them.

A few weeks later, he saw a story in the news about a Powerball ticket that was sold in Burlington and was worth $50,000.

“Wait a minute, I bought a couple tickets in Burlington,” the man thought. “I better check my tickets.”

As he scanned each ticket in the stack using the Hoosier Lottery’s app, he was surprised to see a message pop up stating he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery to claim his prize. “What does that mean??” he wondered.

After a quick online search, he realized he had the winning ticket sold in Burlington and had won $50,000! 

The man said he is absolutely thrilled with his win and will put his prize money in savings.
