Miquel Robinson of New Haven recently claimed a $300,000 top prize on a $10 Ruby Red Tripler Scratch-off.

Miquel and his partner enjoy playing Hoosier Lottery games simply for fun. They usually stick to Draw games but will pick up Scratch-offs from time to time.

There was a specific reason they chose the $10 Ruby Red Tripler ticket that day. The number shown for the ticket matched Miquel’s partner’s mother’s birthday. She had recently passed away and had always enjoyed playing Scratch-offs, which led them to purchase the ticket.

The couple bought a few tickets during their stop but didn’t scratch them until the next morning. When Miquel checked the tickets using the Hoosier Lottery app, a message directing him to visit the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office displayed, signaling they had won something larger than expected.

While Miquel has had small lottery wins before, this was by far the largest prize he had ever won.

Miquel and his partner shared the news with friends and family on the day the prize was claimed. 
Looking ahead, Miquel plans to use his winnings for travel. The couple’s plans include a trip to Los Angeles, with hopes of visiting Hawaii and Japan in the future.
