Though Joseph Ross is retired, he still has work to do maintaining his home and providing handyman services to friends and family. He was on his way home after helping his sister with a project when he stopped at the Casey’s in Mooresville and purchased a $10 White Ice Scratch-off. Joseph noticed that there were a few unclaimed top prizes for this game, which is what excited him about purchasing a ticket.

While in the parking lot, Joseph scratched his ticket. Realizing that he had a winner, Joseph scanned the ticket with the Hoosier Lottery app to confirm that he had just won the $250,000 top prize! He drove home to Speedway to tell his wife.

“I mentioned some things that my wife and I had talked about doing but didn’t really have the money to do, and she said, ‘Where are you going to get the money to do all of this?’ and that’s when I handed her the ticket,” Joseph coyly recalls about how he broke the news to his wife.

First on Joseph’s list for the prize money is to fix his truck and buy a new pair of glasses. He then plans to pay some bills and start planning a trip for him and his wife – maybe to Las Vegas!
