An ordinary day quickly turned into an exciting one for a Greencastle woman.  

She stopped at a Speedway to get something to drink, and as she approached the sales counter, she noticed the display of Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs. She likes to play Hoosier Lottery games every now and then—whenever the mood strikes her or a particular ticket catches her eye. This time, she decided to purchase a $20 Ca$hword Scratch-off.   

Once she was home, she scratched the ticket’s QR code and scanned it using the Hoosier Lottery’s mobile app. She was surprised when the screen displayed a message stating her prize was too large to cash at a retailer.

She scratched the rest of the ticket and counted the completed words. She was shocked when she found 10 words and saw the prize amount was $2,500.  

Excited to claim her winnings, she drove to the Hoosier Lottery’s Prize Payment Office in Indianapolis, and just when she thought she couldn’t be any more shocked than she already was, the Hoosier Lottery employee scanned the ticket and told the woman she had won $10,000, not $2,500. She couldn’t believe it!  

She examined the ticket again and saw it actually contained 11 completed words. In her excitement, she had missed one of the words.  

The player plans to use some of her winnings to take a trip to watch her grandson’s military graduation ceremony and will put the rest in savings.
