Edwin Veras Camacho was on his way to work as a contractor for Rolls Royce when he scanned his Powerball® ticket on the Hoosier Lottery app to see if he had won. The message Edwin received told him to contact the Hoosier Lottery office. Confused, he called his fiancé and asked her to look up what the message meant.

Edwin realized he won a prize too large for a retailer to cash and excitedly drove to the Hoosier Lottery office in Indianapolis to claim his prize. Only when he signed the paperwork at the cashier’s window did he realize that he won $50,000!

“I thought maybe it was a few thousand dollars and was surprised when I saw $50,000 on the paperwork,” said Edwin.

Edwin called his fiancé from the Hoosier Lottery office to tell her the great news. “It can’t be real,” his fiancé exclaimed.

Edwin plans to pay bills and put the rest of the prize money in the bank.
