Theresa Bible of Indianapolis likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs for fun. She usually waits to scratch them until she’s watching television so she has something to do during commercial breaks.

While watching TV one evening, Theresa picked up a stack of Scratch-offs that had been sitting on her coffee table for two weeks and began scratching them during commercials. Theresa’s daughter called her during one commercial break, and the two talked while Theresa continued to scratch her tickets. When she came to the last Scratch-off—a $30 200X the Cash—she saw that she had already scratched part of the ticket and started to put it aside because it wasn’t a winning ticket. Since it was the last ticket in the stack, though, Theresa went ahead and finished scratching it.

She was shocked when the ticket she thought was a non-winner revealed the top prize! Still on the phone with her daughter, Theresa blurted out, “Oh my gosh! I have to go!”

“What’s wrong?” her daughter asked.

Theresa replied, “I think I just won $30,000!”

Theresa then called her son and asked him to come over and help her download the Hoosier Lottery app so she could scan the ticket to make sure it really was a winner. When she scanned it and saw the message confirming her win, Theresa was overjoyed and celebrated with her son and husband.

“I couldn’t sleep at all and stayed up all night because I was so excited and nervous,” said Theresa.

Theresa plans to save her winnings for retirement.
