One number away from winning the big Powerball^® jackpot, man celebrates winning $50,000
Whenever the Powerball jackpot gets really large, Mr. Dobbs visits his local Casey’s General Store to buy a few Powerball tickets. He walked into Casey’s in mid-January and decided to play a number series that he had played a couple years ago – 19-23-25-49-53; Powerball 14. 

Mr. Dobbs decided to wait until the day after the drawing (January 14) to check his ticket. He pulled out his phone to look up the winning numbers; the numbers that appeared on his screen were 04-19-23-25-49; Powerball 14. “I recognized the numbers, and I knew that I had the Powerball right and thought, ‘Oh my gosh, is this really happening!?’ For a minute there, I thought I won the whole thing.”  

When filling out the draw slip, Mr. Dobbs remembered debating whether to put the number 4 or the number 53. After a few chuckles and deep breath, he said, “You know, obviously I’m happy that I won $50,000, but I can’t help but think what if?” 

Mr. Dobbs does not have any solidified plans for the prize money; however, he wants to put in an outdoor spa and save as much of the money as possible.
