Winner Stories
Kelli Clipp and her daughter Tabatha have a close relationship and do a lot of things together. In fact, the two live together and play Hoosier Lottery Draw games together.
The pair are not regular players, but when a jackpot starts growing very large, they like to play. They’ve been playing together for more than 10 years and always purchase two tickets and typically purchase them at the Casey’s closest to home.
One evening when the Powerball® jackpot was over $1 billion, Tabatha stopped at the nearby Casey’s to purchase two tickets for that night’s drawing. The next morning, she used the Hoosier Lottery app to scan the tickets and was shocked to see a message saying she won and would need to go to the Hoosier Lottery’s Prize Payment office in Indianapolis to claim her prize.
“I just kept thinking, ‘Is this real??’,” said Tabatha.
Tabatha called her mom to tell her they won $50,000, and Kelli was elated, yelling, “Woo! It’s Christmas!”
Tabatha has triplet daughters who are 15, so her portion of the winnings will go toward the upcoming college expenses. Kelli plans to put her winnings in the bank.
