Sharon Hay lives in the historic town of Madison along the Ohio River. She’s enjoying retirement after more than three decades in the finance department of her local school district. She occasionally likes to play Hoosier Lottery Draw games, especially when a jackpot is very large.

When Sharon and her husband stopped at a Casey’s one day, her husband noticed that the Powerball® jackpot was over $1 billion and suggested they purchase a ticket. The day after the drawing, Sharon went to the Hoosier Lottery’s website to check her numbers and saw she matched four numbers plus the Powerball. She was excited to see she won but didn’t know how much she won.

Her son-in-law looked at her ticket and told Sharon, “You just won $50,000!”

Her husband responded, “What?! Tell us that again!”

Sharon was shocked. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

Sharon plans to use her winnings to pay off her car and possibly take a vacation.
