Ken K. usually plays CA$H 5 by purchasing Quick Picks. He recently purchased a ticket and decided for the first time to pick his own numbers, and he hit the estimated $167,000 jackpot.

Ken won on the Oct. 10, 2018 drawing. The winning numbers for that drawing are 5-10-18-19-22. Ken said each number he chose had significance. The 10, for instance, is part of his birthdate. The 22 was the hospital room number where he underwent surgery.

The retiree checks the winning numbers every day, so he quickly figured out he’d won. Still, he double-checked the ticket and had his wife check the numbers to be sure he won.

Ken bought the winning ticket at Meijer in Lafayette. He plans to spend his prize money on regular expenses, and he may invest some of it.
