Bradford Welton is enjoying retirement after a long career with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. As a way to add a little fun to his day, he likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs.

While at Walmart one day, he purchased a Scratch-off from the Hoosier Lottery self-service machine and won $50. He doesn’t usually play the higher-priced games, but he decided to use those winnings to treat himself and purchased a $50 Luxe Millions Scratch-off. He scratched the ticket’s QR code and scanned it on the machine.

“That’s weird,” he remarked upon seeing a message stating he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottey to claim his prize. Not sure how much he may have won, Bradford scratched the rest of the ticket and thought he won $2,000. Examining it more closely, he realized he actually won $20,000!

When he shared the news with his wife and showed her the ticket, she exclaimed, “That’s not real!”

Bradford plans to put his winnings in savings.
