Lindsey Dutrieux doesn’t typically play the lottery, but when jackpots start climbing to record heights she buys a few tickets. One day she stopped at a couple of different gas stations to purchase tickets during the record-setting Powerball® jackpot run.

The day after the drawing, she checked the lottery website and found out she won $50,000. “I read the first number and knew it was right,” Lindsey said. “Then I just kept reading each number, and each one was a match. I just sat and stared at the numbers for at least a full minute.”

The Fort Wayne resident immediately showed her fiancé the ticket, and he was very excited about her win.

Lindsey plans to put some of her winnings toward her home’s mortgage.
