Deborah Moffatt and her husband spent most of their lives in Indiana before retiring and moving to Florida. Deborah loved to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs when they lived here, and she still purchases a few whenever she comes back to visit.

During a recent trip to celebrate their granddaughter’s graduation, Deborah purchased a few $5 Wild Cherry Crossword 5X tickets because she loves crossword puzzles. Later when she was at her daughter’s house, Deborah began scratching her tickets. As she scratched one ticket, she started to see that she had several completed words.

“I started to get excited and thought it couldn’t be real,” said Deborah.

She finished scratching the ticket and showed it to her husband. They counted the completed words and were elated to see Deborah had nine words and won $5,000.

And then they saw the tenth completed word. Deborah had just won the game’s top prize of $100,000!

“Oh my gosh, this can’t be real!” she exclaimed. “This can’t be real!”

To make sure it was real, Deborah took her ticket back to the Sunoco station in Orleans where she had purchased it and asked the clerk to scan it. Once the win was confirmed, Deborah and her family celebrated.

Deborah plans to use her winnings to take a vacation and will share some with her family.
