When Ligonier resident Jason Long’s truck broke down, he never would have imagined that it could be a good thing.

Unable to drive the truck, Jason went over to his dad’s house to discuss having it towed to a repair shop. While there, his dad gave Jason a $5 Fat Wallet Scratch-off.

Back home, Jason scratched the QR code on the ticket and scanned it using the Hoosier Lottery’s app. When the screen displayed a message stating he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery to claim his prize, Jason was surprised. He wondered how large the prize had to be if he couldn’t redeem it at a retailer. He finished scratching the ticket and was stunned to see he had won the $100,000 top prize!

Jason immediately called his dad to share his news, and his dad was so happy for him.

Jason plans to use some of his winnings to fix his truck, take a trip and help with his upcoming moving expenses—but first he’s going to share some with his dad.
