Columbia City resident Kylie Bell occasionally plays Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs to add some fun to her day, which can be hectic. She works full-time at a rehab center and owns a business with her husband where they purchase pallets of goods from liquidation sales and resell them.  

On her way home from work one day, Kylie decided to purchase a few $5 Scratch-offs. She chose the $5 5X the Money and then sat in her car scratching them. As she scratched one ticket, “I kept seeing zeroes,” she said.

When Kylie realized she won the game’s $100,000 top prize, she promptly rolled up her car windows and screamed for joy.

Wanting to share her excitement, she called her husband. Several times. Since he was at work, though, he wasn’t able to answer. Still needing to tell someone, she called her mom. Several times. When her mom finally answered and Kylie got to blurt out her good news, her mom thought she was joking. But once Kylie texted her a photo of the winning ticket, her mom was just as thrilled as Kylie was.

Kylie plans to use her winnings to pay off her husband’s truck and buy herself a new car. She’ll also save a little of it to use as extra spending money on the family vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama, they have planned and will put the rest in savings.
