One Sizzling 7s top prize won by a Fort Wayne woman

The new Hot 7s Scratch-offs that debuted in February certainly fired up some fun for a Fort Wayne woman. Sandra Cates won a $77,000 top prize from a $5 Sizzling 7s Scratch-off. Sandra only plays Scratch-offs, and this is her first time traveling to the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters to claim a prize.

The day she won Sandra and her adult son scratched the ticket together. Immediately a 7 was revealed; they were off to a good start. They kept scratching and soon discovered the ticket was a $77,000 top prize winner! Sandra scanned the ticket with her Hoosier Lottery App to double check her ticket and was so excited to see that she really had won!

Sandra is retired from previously owning her own business, and currently works part time at Joann Fabrics. Sandra plans on using some of her prize money to purchase a couple of trucks for her sons’ business.
