Simo Dimic from Hammond has been playing the Hoosier Lottery for many years. He likes to play both Draw games and Scratch-offs and has won a few hundred dollars on occasion.

On his way out of the Strack and Van Til food market, Simo had an extra $3 in cash that he used to purchase a Powerball® ticket.

The next day when Simo scanned his ticket at a Hoosier Lottery retailer, he received a message that he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery office to claim his prize. Simo thought he had won $10,000 and went home where he later figured out that he had won $50,000!

Simo’s son was home with him when he discovered he had won $50,000 and joined in celebration with him.

Simo plans to pay some bills with his prize money and save the rest.
