Brad M. is a pipefitter from Evansville who occasionally likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs to add some fun to his day. His favorite Scratch-offs are the crossword and bingo games, but when he stopped to get lunch at a local truck stop one day, he decided to try a new game and bought a $10 Chrome.

He sat in his work truck eating lunch and scratched the ticket. At first, Brad thought he won $10 and was happy to win his money back. However, as he studied the ticket, he started to realize he won a lot more than $10. He had actually won the top prize of $1 million!

He jumped out of his truck and showed a co-worker the ticket, saying, “Tell me this is real!” When they confirmed his win, Brad was stunned. “My whole body was immediately flooded with adrenaline,” he said. “I had to get myself calmed down so I could drive.”

Once he stopped shaking, Brad drove to his mother’s house to share his good news. She thought he had to be joking when he told her he won $1 million. “Oh right,” she said. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Brad showed her his ticket, and she was overjoyed for him. Brad then called his son and said, “You’ll think I’m joking, but I just won a million dollars!”

Brad plans to invest his winnings and probably treat himself to a vacation this summer.
