When Ronald Jones isn’t busy running his iconic Indianapolis restaurant Bar-B-Q Heaven, he likes to play the Hoosier Lottery’s Daily 4 Draw game for fun. He was at the restaurant one day when he checked his numbers and realized he won $10,000. “I was surprised but excited,” said Ronald.

He plans to put some of his winnings in savings and share the rest with his employees.

The self-made business owner started his barbecue business when he was just 11 years old. Young Ronald wanted to buy a bicycle and was looking for a way to earn the money to buy it. Having been taught to cook by his grandmother, Ronald decided to use her recipe to make barbecue and began selling it near the entrance to his neighborhood park. Within two years, his business had grown so much that both of Ronald’s parents quit their jobs to help him open a storefront, which continues to serve up barbecue more than 70 years later.
