CA$H 5 jackpot winner shares the importance of financial responsibility

The winner, under the name “One Time, LLC,” claimed the $520,924 CA$H 5 jackpot from the September 11th draw. The winning ticket was purchased at Bolton’s Tobacco in Indianapolis.

Part of the winner’s daily routine is to stop at a nearby store to purchase his daily Draw Game tickets. “I love playing the Draw Games because they give you the opportunity to possibly win millions of dollars.” 

The winner drove to one of his usual spots, Bolton’s Tobacco on West Morris St., to play his numbers that he picked using the Hoosier Lottery® mobile app. The day after the draw, as the winner and his significant other were getting ready to go out, the winner decided to scan the numbers on the app to see if he was a winner.

After the winner scanned the ticket, they were greeted with the message that they just won $520,924 jackpot. “That can’t be right!” the winner exclaimed. The winner ran over to his significant other to show her the message on his phone. His significant other was incredibly shocked and couldn’t believe what she saw. “I was shocked,” she said. “I was so happy, but I couldn’t show any emotion at the time because I couldn’t believe it.”

“The first thing I did was send a hypothetical question to my accountant to see what first steps a person should take if they were in my position,” the winner said. “He’s one of the people that I trust the most and I wanted to get his opinion.” After the winner met with his accountant, Michael Jamison of OnTarget CPA, they created an outline that they would follow to get the most out of the jackpot win.

Michael, present during the claim process, was able to walk the winner through all of the options during the claim process. “If there was one thing I would recommend to anyone, it would be to make sure you have someone that you trust and is good with their finances help you through this process,” the winner said. “Michael is that person for me and he’s really helped us with this newfound wealth.”

As of now, the CA$H 5 jackpot winner doesn’t have any immediate plans for the money, but they are looking forward to paying off some debt and investing in their business.
