Winner Stories
Ryder Nix, an 18-year-old construction worker from Indianapolis, was stunned when he won twice on Daily 4—despite having played the lottery only a handful of times. The reason Ryder has only played a few times was because he just recently had his 18th birthday, the minimum age to play Hoosier Lottery games.
So, when he turned 18, one of the things he looked forward to was buying a ticket and playing different Hoosier Lottery games. On the day of his win, Ryder stopped by a gas station and decided to play a special set of numbers on Daily 4. These numbers were the same ones his late grandfather had always played—numbers Ryder was excited to get to play for himself. And those same numbers his grandfather used before were the winning numbers for Ryder.
Ryder won $10,000 on one ticket and $5,400 on another, for a total Daily 4 win of $15,400. Considering he had only played Scratch-offs and Draw games a few times, the moment was shocking for Ryder.
The first person he called was his grandmother. She was ecstatic, and sharing that moment with her made the experience even more meaningful.
When Ryder arrived to claim his prize, he was still taking it all in, smiling as he posed with the oversized check. He said the entire day felt surreal. He plans to put some of his winnings toward upgrading to a new car.
Daily 4 and SUPERBALL overall odds vary by player selection.
