On her way to a bridal shower, Ginger stopped to fill up her Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Knowing that the big Powerball® jackpot drawing for $1.8 billion was that evening, she bought a few more Powerball tickets than she normally does. “Load me up,” she told her usual Hoosier Lottery retailer.

Back on her bike, Ginger locked the tickets in her saddlebag and went on. A few days later, she saw a news story that several winning tickets were sold in Indiana, and one was sold in Russiaville at the retailer where she had purchased her tickets. “What are the chances?” she thought to herself.  
Curious, she checked her tickets. She looked over the winning numbers and didn’t think she’d won more than $4 by matching just the Powerball.

To be sure, Ginger scanned her tickets with the Hoosier Lottery app before tossing them away. That’s when she received a message that she’d won a prize amount too large to cash, and she’d need to call the Hoosier Lottery office. Ginger called the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office, which confirmed she had won $50,000!

Bursting with excitement, she told her partner who said, “I’ve never met anyone who has won this much money before!”

Ginger and her partner have several adventurous Harley rides planned for this fall and a European cruise planned for 2027. Ginger plans to use the prize money on her upcoming trips and to have fun!
