Ronald Shoemaker is retired after a career in state government. He spends his time fishing and traveling with his wife. During his weekly trips to the grocery store, Ronald likes to pick up a few Hoosier Lottery tickets for entertainment once he gets home.

It was at home when Ronald checked his Powerball® ticket and saw that he matched a few numbers. “I thought I had won $100, so I showed my wife,” said Ronald. “She looked at the ticket and said, ‘No, check again.’”

Ronald had won $50,000! His wife was ecstatic about the win, but Ronald was a little heartbroken knowing that he was one number away from winning the jackpot.
