Merrillville resident wins $100,000 top prize on Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off 
Whenever Leonard Springs, Merrillville, Ind., has a few extra bucks in his pocket he likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs. After stopping at the Luke’s 273 retailer on Taft St., his eyes were drawn to the new $5 Cash Bonanza Scratch-off.  
 
Upon scratching, he discovered a “money bag” symbol. His first thought was, “No way this can be happening to me, I better double check it!” Still in disbelief, Springs decided to scan his ticket. He rushed to a nearby store to scan his Scratch-off. 
 
At first, he checked a game where he knew the prize amount – he wanted to be sure the scanner was working properly. He promptly pulled the Cash Bonanza Scratch-off out of his pocket, looked around to make sure no one was watching, and scanned it quickly….”Woooo hoo! I knew I was right! I won big,” Springs excitedly thought to himself. “I was so nervous and excited when I walked out of the store,” he said. “I was trying to look normal on the outside, but on the inside, I was on cloud nine.”
 
Leonard is excited to relieve some debt to become more financially secure.
