Aaron Williams from Marion started his Friday morning with the plan of having a lazy day after a busy work shift at the Cafe Valley restaurant where he is employed. Within hours, his day became filled with fun and excitement.

Aaron decided on an outing to purchase a few Hoosier Lottery tickets at the Marion Go Mart convenience store. He prefers Scratch-offs given the variety of unique games that launch each month. Plus, playing Scratch-offs allows him the enjoyment of reminiscing over winning $100 on the very first Scratch-off he played when he turned 18.

Aaron opted for the seasonal $2 Holiday Jingle Scratch-off. After scratching the ticket, he thought there must be a typo because it showed he won a very high dollar amount. To be sure, he pulled out his phone and opened the Hoosier Lottery app to scan the ticket.

There was no typo.

Aaron immediately realized he won the top prize of $10,000! His planned lazy Friday soon turned into a road trip to the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment Office in downtown Indianapolis to claim his win.

“I usually don’t win big prizes. I’m used to the smaller prizes,” said Aaron. “It feels crazy to win $10,000 on a $2 ticket!”

Aaron plans to use the winnings to pay some bills and perhaps purchase a car.
