A Jennings County man bought his first-ever $50 Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off and was shocked when it turned out to be a $100,000 top prize winner.

He typically buys a Scratch-off when he stops to get gas on his way to work. He had some extra cash one morning when he stopped at a Marathon to fill his tank, so he decided to purchase a $50 50X the Money.

During a break at work, he scratched the ticket and was excited to see a “50X” symbol, meaning he would win 50 times the prize amount shown on the ticket. As he continued scratching, he uncovered four $500 prizes.

“I was pretty happy to see I won $2,000,” he recalled. “But then I noticed the 50 times symbol and realized I actually won $100,000!”

When he showed his co-workers his ticket, he said, “They started jumping all around they were so excited, but I just sat there staring at the ticket. I couldn’t believe it.”

He plans to use his prize money to purchase a new vehicle and make a few updates to his house.
