Now that Michael Miller of Indianapolis is retired, he stays busy chauffeuring his grandchildren to all their various activities. “Basically, I’m an unpaid Uber driver,” laughed Michael.

Michael occasionally likes to play Hoosier Lottery Draw games, especially when a jackpot grows to a large amount. When the Powerball® jackpot had surpassed $1 billion, Michael decided to purchase tickets. He stopped at the gas station near his home and bought five tickets for the Saturday drawing.

The day after the drawing, Michael and his wife were getting ready for church. With his wife still getting ready, Michael had a few minutes to kill, so he started scanning his tickets using the Hoosier Lottery app.

When he saw a message stating he won and would need to go to the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office to claim his winnings, Michael was shocked. He yelled to his wife, “When you get done, you need to come look at this!”

When his wife examined the ticket and message, she was thrilled to realize Michael won $50,000!

Michael plans to pay off a few bills with his winnings and will put the rest in savings.
