Valparaiso resident Brian Melton is a union laborer who works installing fences. When Draw game jackpots are on the rise, Brian joins in the fun and plays. He purchased two Powerball® tickets when the jackpot ballooned to over $1 billion.

The morning after the drawing, Brian scanned his tickets on the Hoosier Lottery app and saw a message stating he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery to claim his prize. Knowing he must have matched a few numbers to win a prize, Brian excitedly looked up the winning numbers.

“There’s no way!” he blurted out when he saw he matched four of the white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000.

“Are you okay?” his girlfriend asked him.
