Brandon Richards and Jason Barker are good friends and coworkers. In fact, Jason helped Brandon get a job at the HVAC company they work. The duo pools their money together to purchase Hoosier Lottery tickets while traveling between jobs. Together, they have won $1,000 before, which they split evenly like they do all their wins.

It was no different when the friends purchased a $10 Million Dollar Spectacular Scratch-off. They were on their way home and decided to go a different route to buy tickets. Just as Jason finished scratching the ticket, Brandon walked out of the gas station, saw Jason’s face and knew they’d won a big prize. “Did we hit the million [dollars]?” he asked.

Jason and Brandon didn’t win the top prize, but they did win $10,000! Around the time they realized they won, Jason’s sister happened to pull into the gas station and learned of the big win. She ran inside and told the clerk what had just happened and bought a few $10 Million Dollar Spectacular Scratch-offs for herself.

Brandon plans to buy a new bedroom set for his daughter and a few things for the house with his half of the prize money. Jason and his wife had booked a cruise the night before the win, so his half of the prize money will go toward spending money for their trip.
