Fort Wane resident Shawn Click works the third shift at automotive parts manufacturer Dana and typically stops to purchase a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off or two on his way home from work. After redeeming a $50 winning Scratch-off, Shawn bought two of the $10 Wild Cherry Crossword 10X tickets.

He scanned both tickets on the Hoosier Lottery’s self-service machine. When the screen displayed a message stating he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery to claim his prize, Shawn said, “I knew I won $1,000, $5,000 or $200,000.”

He quickly went out to his car to finish scratching the ticket and determine his prize amount. “I jumped in the car, locked all the doors and scratched it,” he recounted. Examining the ticket, Shawn saw he had 11 complete words to win $5,000.

Wanting to make sure he was looking at the ticket correctly, he went home and carefully wrote down each of the completed words. As he counted them again, Shawn was shocked to realize he actually had 12 complete words and won the $200,000 top prize!

Eager to claim his winnings, Shawn got back in his car and drove straight to the Hoosier Lottery’s Prize Payment Office in Indianapolis. “I held the ticket in my hand the whole trip,” he said. “There was no way I was letting go of it.”

Shawn plans to use his winnings to pay a couple of bills and will invest the rest.
