A father from the south side of Indianapolis was filled with nerves and excitement when he learned he won $2 million playing Powerball®. In fact, he didn’t know how much he won until he was presented with an oversized, commemorative check in the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment Office.

The busy father started playing the Hoosier Lottery about a year ago. He always stops at the same Marathon gas station to buy his tickets and chooses his own numbers. Those five numbers were the winning combination on April 29, a historic drawing for the Hoosier Lottery in which 20 Hoosier Lottery players won $1 million or more, including one Hoosier who split the $143 million jackpot with a player in Kansas. 

The newly minted millionaire plans to pay off his home and is unsure what to do with the rest of the prize money as the reality of his win is just settling in.
