Kenna Garrett, an elementary school teacher, recently claimed a $100,000 top prize on a $50 50X the Money Scratch-off after taking a second look at her tickets.

Kenna says she enjoys playing Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs from time to time, especially crossword-style games, which are her favorite. After scratching several tickets one evening, she believed they were all non-winners and set them aside on her counter, where they sat for weeks. When she finally decided to clean them up and throw them away, Kenna chose to check the tickets one more time by scanning them in the Hoosier Lottery app.

As she scanned through the tickets, she saw a message stating her prize was too large to cash at a retailer. The more she checked, the clearer it became that she had not missed a small prize, but a higher prize than she expected. The largest prize Kenna had ever won before was $200, making the discovery even more surprising.

At the time, Kenna was already on the phone with her older sister, but when the scan showed a win, the call quickly moved to FaceTime. After looking at the ticket together, Kenna was still unsure and hesitated to believe it was real. Her sister encouraged her to call her mom, and after reviewing the ticket, the family confirmed the win. Kenna says there were plenty of happy tears as her family celebrated the news, sharing how excited they were for her.

Looking ahead, Kenna plans to save a portion of her winnings and use the rest to create special memories with her family. She has chosen Hawaii as the destination for their annual spring break trip this year.

Kenna says she is extremely grateful for the win and she appreciates the opportunities it will bring for her family and future.
