Muncie resident Chad Meadows was on a week-long deer hunting trip with his dad, brother, and nephew when he won $10,000 on the $10 Chrome.

The men were staying at a campground when Chad ran to the store to pick up a few things. While shopping, he also bought some Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs to play with his dad. Chad debated which tickets to give to his dad and ultimately decided to keep the $10 Chrome ticket for himself. As he slowly began to scratch his ticket, he realized it was a winner—then he saw it was a $10,000 winner!

Chad called his wife to tell her about the win. Initially, she didn’t believe him, but when his dad got on the phone and said it wasn’t a joke, she knew it was true. She then responded, “We can do some more Christmas shopping!”

Chad didn’t get a buck on the hunting trip, but he was pleased to bring home $10,000. Chad and his wife plan to buy some extra Christmas presents and shop for a newer vehicle with the prize money.
