Martha Davis lives near the Ohio River in the town of Clarksville. She retired after working at American Synthetic for a number of years and enjoys spending her time pursuing her hobbies and playing the Hoosier Lottery for fun.

Martha’s favorite game is Hoosier Lotto®, but she occasionally plays Powerball®, too. One day when she was shopping at Kroger, she bought a few Hoosier Lotto tickets and decided to buy one Powerball ticket as well.

The next morning, Martha checked her numbers and couldn’t believe it when she saw she matched four out of five white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000. Because her eyesight has decreased a bit in recent years, Martha wanted to make sure she was reading the numbers correctly, so she called her daughter and left her a voicemail saying, “I have something serious to talk to you about. Please call me back.”

Martha’s daughter was worried something was wrong when she heard her mom’s message and immediately called her. The relief she felt when she found out her mom was fine quickly turned to joy when she checked her mom’s numbers and confirmed that Martha had indeed won $50,000.

Later that day when the women saw a news story about a $50,000 Powerball ticket that was sold in Clarksville, they were excited to know the story was about Martha’s ticket.

Martha plans to use her winnings to purchase a new roof for her house.
