Winner Stories
Charles “Chuck” Petersimes works full-time as a carpenter for his employer and provides handyman services to a never-ending client list as his side business. The Crawfordsville resident also cares for his son, who is waiting for a kidney transplant.
When Chuck can find free time, he likes to spend it hunting deer and playing the Hoosier Lottery. He’s been playing the Hoosier Lottery since it began in 1989. Chuck sets a budget of $50 per week to spend on Scratch-offs – his favorite. He enjoys the chance of winning large prizes instantly.
He wasn’t planning to play $10 Stacks of Cash, but after winning $50 on another Scratch-off, he went back into the retailer and decided to give the game a try. Chuck had not played this game before, but after a friend told him he’d won $500 on it, Chuck was interested.
To his surprise, Chuck won much more than $500; he won the $10,000 top prize! He plans to tell his wife about the win after he claims his prize.
“It’ll make her day, it really will,” Chuck said about telling his wife the good news.
Chuck plans to use the prize money on medical bills, a new pair of work boots and new tires for his truck – just in time for winter.
