First time’s the charm 

A late-night trip to the gas station proved fruitful for Alexis Bex, Muncie, who claimed a $20,000 prize on the $20 100X The Cash Scratch-off. The winning Scratch-off was purchased at the BP gas station off Wheeling Avenue in Muncie.

Alexis and her father traveled to the local BP gas station to buy some drinks and snacks. When they got to the register, Alexis’ father asked if she wanted to buy any Scratch-offs. “It’s kind of funny, he was trying to talk me into buying some Scratch-offs. I’ve never played, so I was a little unsure,” Alexis recalled. After she bought her Scratch-off, she placed them in the visor above her drivers’ seat and drove home. 

The next morning, she walked out to her car to grab something and forgot the Scratch-off was there until she saw it sitting there. “I played the Scratch-off, but I didn’t know how to read it, so I scanned it on the Hoosier Lottery® app,” Alexis said. The app showed she had won big. “I couldn’t believe that I won $20,000 on the first Scratch-off I had ever bought!”  

“When I told my parents and my boyfriend, they couldn’t believe it,” said Alexis. “No one that I’ve told can seem to believe that I won this amount of money on my first ever Scratch-off! I am still processing the win myself.”
