Every now and then Indianapolis resident Ryan Richards likes to add a little play to his day by purchasing a Powerball® ticket. While out running errands, he stopped at a Payless Liquors store in Southport to pick up a couple items and decided to also purchase one Powerball ticket.

A few days after the drawing, he scanned his ticket on the Hoosier Lottery’s mobile app and received a message that he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery to claim his prize. Ryan didn’t know how much he won, but he was thrilled to have won something.

Once he looked up his prize amount, he was excited to see he won $50,000! Anxious to share his good news, he called his dad. After a moment of disbelief, his dad told Ryan how happy he was for him.

Ryan plans to use his winnings to purchase a new vehicle and possibly make some home renovations.
