Stacey B. of Indianapolis and her good friend Tawana both used to work together in a childcare facility as cooks. The two have stayed good friends and often take trips to Las Vegas together. 

In May 2025, Tawana won one of three $600,000 top prizes playing the $5 10 Years of Cash Scratch-off. Elated for her friend and wanting to join in the fun, Stacey began to play the same game. 

She was at Walmart in Plainfield when she scratched and scanned her $5 10 Years of Cash ticket. She received a message that her prize was too large to cash at a retailer. She glanced at her ticket and saw $5,000, so she thought that was what she won. 

It wasn’t until Stacey handed her ticket to the associate at the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment Office in Indianapolis that she found out she won the $600,000 top prize, just like her friend Tawana had the year prior! 

Stunned, Stacey called Tawana to tell her she had won the top prize as well. “No way!” Tawana exclaimed. 

Stacey plans to use the prize money to take another girls’ trip to Las Vegas with Tawana and friends, which wasn’t originally in her budget for this year. The girls’ trip is back!
