Joshua Keele of Greencastle has a home remodeling business with his dad. One morning they stopped at Speedway to get a morning snack, and Joshua bought a couple Scratch-offs. One of them turned out to be a $100 winner, so Joshua cashed the ticket in and bought a couple more.
Once they were back in the truck and on their way, Joshua pulled out his tickets and started scratching a $30 Extreme Cash. At first, Joshua thought he hadn’t won anything. “As I got near the bottom of the ticket, it looked like I won $5,” Joshua said. “I kept scratching and then thought I won $50. Then $500. When I was done and saw I won $50,000, my hands started shaking.”
Joshua turned to his dad and asked him to pull over. “I think I just won $50,000,” he told his dad.
Excited, they pulled over, examined the ticket again and realized Joshua had in fact won the game’s top prize.
For the rest of the drive, Joshua clutched the ticket firmly in his hands, not wanting to risk losing it. His dad told him he had never seen Joshua’s thumbs so white!
Joshua plans to use his winnings to pay some bills and buy a new truck.
