Retired factory worker Gary Chrzan of Bremen spends his free time in the kitchen, but not only for himself, but for others in his community. Gary bakes cakes and desserts and even provides entire meals for community members during the holidays or for special occasions.
On Thanksgiving Day, Gary delivered homemade burritos to the employees at the Speedway that he visits every week. "I figure if these people have to work on Thanksgiving, at least I can bring them a fresh, warm meal," said Gary. While he was there, Gary purchased a few Scratch-offs.
In the parking lot of the Speedway, Gary scratched his tickets and soon realized that he had won the $99,000 top prize on a $5 9s in a Line Scratch-off. Shaking, he called his mom in Florida to tell her the news. Her response, "Make sure you get a different vehicle with the prize money!"
Gary's 2006 Jeep Cherokee is not as reliable as it once was, so Gary plans to buy a good used vehicle with the prize money. He also plans to improve his driveway and repair the deck at his mom's house.
