A Schererville woman quadruple checked her Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off when she thought she won $100,000. And she was right! Sheila Novotny won a top prize of $100,000 on a $5 Wild Cherry Crossword 5X Scratch-off.
Sheila enjoys Hoosier Lottery games with crossword and bingo themes. She was at home in her living room when she discovered her big win.
“One of my rechecks I said, ‘Oh my God,’” Sheila said while claiming her prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters.
She told her husband, Erik, the exciting news.
“I thought she was messing with me at first, until I saw her face,” he said.
Sheila said she plans to use the prize money to buy a new bed, pay off her truck and boost her savings. She bought the winning ticket at Speedway on U.S. Highway 41 in Schererville.
