An Indianapolis man played HOOSIER JACKPOT! for the first time on a whim, and he won!
Shawn Britt, a mechanic with a concrete company, buys a Fast Play game about once a week. At the end of December, Shawn found a $5 bill in his pocket and decided to try his hand at a game he never played before. He bought a $5 HOOSIER JACKPOT! ticket and won $28,172. He bought the ticket at Marathon Food Mart, 6429 S. Mooresville Road in Indianapolis.
“It’s easy to look at something like that and get excited and see what you want to see,” Shawn said while claiming his prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis.
He wanted to double check he won.
“I downloaded the (Hoosier Lottery) app and scanned it, and it said, ‘Congratulations!’” Shawn said.
Shawn plans to put the money in the bank for everyday expenses.
