Earl Nation and Peggy Davidson of Indianapolis are both retired and enjoy volunteering at their local church. They also like to play the Hoosier Lottery for fun.
They typically purchase tickets at a Discount Liquor near their home. One day while they were at the store, Earl asked the clerk to scan a Powerball® ticket he thought was a $100 winner. However, when the clerk told Earl that he would need to go to the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office to claim his prize, Earl knew he must have won more than $100. He had previously seen a news story about a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket that was sold at the same store Earl was currently standing in and was shocked to realize he was holding that winning ticket in his hand!
Earl and Peggy immediately called their grandson to tell him the news, and he was so happy for them. They plan on using the prize money to pay off Peggy’s car and do some home renovations.
