Theodore Estep lives in Muncie and is a supervisor at the local Lowe’s. He also likes to play the lottery occasionally. One day he got off work early and decided to stop at Speedway to buy a $30 Extreme Cash Scratch-off.
He sat in his truck and began scratching the ticket. “First I saw a zero and then another one, so I thought maybe I won $500,” said Theodore. “Then I saw another zero and was excited to think I might have won $1,000. Then I saw it was $50,000 and was just shocked.”
Wanting to make sure he really had won the game’s top prize, he went back into the store and asked the clerk to scan his ticket. When they confirmed that it was indeed a winning ticket, Theodore drove straight to his wife’s workplace to share the good news. When he showed his wife the ticket, she said, “Oh, my gosh! You won something?”
Theodore plans to put his winnings in his retirement account.
