A New Albany man said Christmas was paid for after winning $50,000 on Powerball.
Michael Schreiweis plays Mega Millions and Powerball weekly, always buying his tickets at Meijer C-Stop in New Albany. He was at home checking his tickets when he realized he’d matched 4 of 5 numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000. He immediately told his wife.
“I can’t believe you won something,” his wife said to him.
Michael took early retirement but is back working at Cummins in Seymour, where he returned to work for the day after claiming his Powerball prize.
In addition to covering Christmas expenses, Michael said he may spend some of his prize money on a cruise trip with his wife next year.
