Natalie Lidester lives in the small town of Linden, about 15 miles south of Lafayette. She likes to play Scratch-offs and typically buys them when she’s out shopping with her sister. One day after work, the two went grocery shopping and then stopped at the gas station. While there, Natalie decided to buy a few $5 Money Money Money Scratch-offs.
She scratched them as soon as they got back in their car and quickly saw that she won the top prize of $100,000. She was so shocked that she gasped out loud. When her sister asked what was wrong, Natalie said, “I just hit $100,000!”
“No, you didn’t!” exclaimed her sister. Natalie then scanned her ticket using the Hoosier Lottery app and showed her sister that she really had won the top prize. “We actually ended up scanning the ticket several times just to be sure,” laughed Natalie.
Wanting to share her good news, Natalie called several friends and family members, who all were very happy for her.
Natalie has worked at Wabash, a semi-trailer manufacturer, for 31 years and plans to put most of her winnings in savings for her retirement, but first she wants to take her grandson to Disney World.
