Robert Saffa is retired and lives in Clearwater, Fla. In early March, he traveled to Valparaiso. to visit his daughter and newborn granddaughter. Robert enjoys playing the lottery in his home state of Florida and wanted to play a few of Indiana’s games, so during his visit he decided to purchase CA$H 5 tickets and Scratch-offs.
After checking the CA$H 5 numbers on the Hoosier Lottery website, Robert realized that he had won $110,000! He immediately told his wife, whom he lovingly refers to as “the boss.” She was a bit skeptical at first, thinking it was a joke, but then was ecstatic about the news! They have told close friends and family but have no immediate plans for the money. “It is still sinking in and feels unreal,” Robert said. “You hear about people winning, but never really expect it to happen to you,” he added. His parting comment when asked about his overall experience was, “I always say, ‘If you don’t play, you can’t win.’”
